The area under greenhouse cultivation in the country has increased by 100%
According to IRNA, Mahmoud Hojjati said during his visit to Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Provinces in Yasuj on Thursday: “The level of greenhouses in the country has increased from 7,000 hectares before the current government to 15,000 hectares by the end of 1997.”
He added: “Last year, 3,000 hectares were added to the level of the country’s greenhouses, so that during a year, nearly 25% of the country’s total greenhouses were created.”
The Minister of Jihad for Agriculture pointed out that we are still lagging behind the countries that are leading in the development of greenhouses: the acceleration of work in this area should be increased.
He said: for this year, the creation of 5,500 hectares of greenhouses in the country has been targeted and by the end of the year, the level of greenhouses in the country will reach 20,000 hectares.
The Minister of Jihad-e-Agriculture stated: “Issuing the necessary licenses for entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector has made good progress and administrative paperwork has been reduced and efforts are being made to remove barriers to production and provide sustainable employment in this sector.”
Hojjati said: “The measures taken with the government in the headquarters of the resistance economy and the head of the program and budget will alleviate the existing concerns about the limited facilities of the agricultural sector.”
He said: “There are good markets for Iranian greenhouse products in the north and south of our country. In addition, in countries such as Russia and other Eurasian countries that have long periods of cold and frost, Iran’s greenhouse products can be in demand in many countries.” Be accountable.
The Minister of Jihad for Agriculture stated: The situation of greenhouse development in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad is satisfactory, but this issue should be pursued more vigorously.
On the sidelines of the inauguration of the first tissue culture unit for orchards in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, he said: “Today we saw that the educated local youth were able to set up this complex with their perseverance and the support of provincial officials.”
Hojjati said: “These young people, according to their ability and expertise, created the first tissue culture unit for orchards in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad.”
The Minister of Jihad for Agriculture added: “We need to support everyone so that in the near future we will see the first planting of fruit orchards in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, and the concerns of the lack of seedlings in this province will be completely eliminated.”
Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad have 91 greenhouses that produce 7,000 tons of crops a year, including ornamental, vegetable and summer flowers.
Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, with a population of 720,000 and a four-season climate, play an important role in meeting the essential needs of the southern provinces.
Annually, 910,000 tons of various agricultural products are produced in 270,000 hectares of agricultural land in the province.
